Only a few flowers have such a strong diversity in terms of symbolism:
love, femininity, purity and transience, just to name a few.
The Lilium is known in the shape of the white copies. But the plant has currently about one hundred species and is available in different colors and shapes.
Red, orange, white, pastel shades, trumpet-shaped flowers, upstanding flowers, side-facing flowers, smelling flowers and star-shaped flowers. The flower size ranges from 7 till 25 cm.
Origin
The Lilium is mainly found in the northern hemisphere. The Lilium grows well at sea level and at higher altitudes. From Asia (Korea, Japan) to Europe (Caucasus, Balkans, Greece, Poland) and even America. About the name is certainly not a consensus statement. "Lys" or "Lis" in French means lily, but the golden ones that some centuries ago were portrayed on the French flag, were actually stylized irises, also called as "Lis".
Care
Place the lily preferably at a sunny place with moist potting compost. She likes a temperature between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. In the summer they like to stay on a balcony or terrace. Dead flowers have to cut off, this ensures that the other flowers stay beautiful for a long time.
