Nostalgic lens
We leave the cold of winter behind us and watch the days grow longer. People are flocking outside once again to embrace the first rays of sunshine, eagerly waiting to tend to their garden. Soon, everything will be in bloom!
Flowers and plants
It's clear that people are rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in. Outdoor plants are flying off the shelves. Flowers do well not only in colourful arrangements, but we also see them regularly in the garden, sometimes even in a fresh new guise. The Clematis Rollercoaster, for example, makes an impressive statement with its voluminous double flowers in May and June, followed by a second wave of single blooms in September. But classics like the Dahlia and Hydrangea are, of course, also indispensable in any selection.
The picking garden is back, featuring beautiful flowers, a variety of home-grown vegetables and wonderfully fragrant herbs. This artisanal touch is also reflected in the woven pots that house these plants. The feeling of “doing it yourself” is strong.
While the focus is on the garden, there are also houseplants with unique features that deserve extra attention. Think, for instance, of the Coleus Spacecake with its beautifully contrasting leaves. Or the Platycerium Bifurcatum, a showpiece in its own right. Delicate flowers such as the Lathyrus and Matthiola remind us of the past and evoke a sense of familiarity.
Colours and decoration
The colour combinations of the moment are fresh and vibrant. From bright orange to vivid green and cool lilac, interspersed with softer shades like powdery pink, mint green and sunny yellow. Motifs and patterns are making a huge comeback. Cheerful checks, stripes and vases decorated with vegetables add a playful touch.
