Mosquito-repelling plants

Those warm summer evenings where we can sit outside until late in the evening, enjoying the last rays of sunshine, are just around the corner. But that also means mosquitoes will be making a comeback, and that is exactly what we do not want. Fortunately, we have the perfect solution: mosquito-repelling plants!

Carnivorous plants
As the name of this category suggests, carnivorous plants are fond of insects. The delicious scent and/or beautiful colours, attracts mosquitoes, trapping them with no chance of escape. A win-win situation: no more mosquito bites for the customer, and an extra dose of nutrients for the plant!

Scented geraniums
The scent of the lemon geranium, which is similar to citronella, is anything but appealing to mosquitoes. In fact, it keeps them at bay. In addition, the fragrance of this plant also masks human scents, such as sweat and carbon dioxide, which mosquitoes are normally drawn to.

Fragrant herbs
While most humans love the smell of herbs, mosquitoes most definitely are not fans of them. Lemon balm, basil, rosemary, mint and lavender all help to keep mosquitoes out of the garden or off the balcony. As a bonus, your customers can use them to prepare delicious dishes.

As an extra tip, advise customers to gently crush the leaves of the herbs and citronella geraniums in the early evening. This helps to release their aromatic oils, ensuring maximum mosquito-repelling power. Explore our full range of mosquito-repelling plants below.
