Oriental Group - Elegant Asian plants
Oriental Group is a commercial nursery specialising in the sale of Asian ornamental products such as bonsai plants, Lucky Bamboo and Ficus Ginseng. In addition to these unique items, our assortment also includes Western plant arrangements.
Erik van der Pol began importing bonsai from China in 1988. Together with a Chinese entrepreneur, he established a company focused on the trade of bonsai products. Oriental Group moved its location to the Dutch town of Bleiswijk in 1997. Later, in 2006, the company's growth resulted in the construction of a new building. This is where the following products are being grown and marketed:
Bonsai:
These special dwarfed trees that have been trained into various styles are imported from Asia. They are sold in Standard Broom Style, S-shaped, Forests and Landscape Style with decorative stones. Bonsai can be kept either indoors or outdoors depending on the type of plant and the growth factors it requires.
Ficus Ginseng:
This plant is known for its appealing bulgy root trunk that looks like the root of a ginseng plant. In Asia, ginseng roots are famous for their medicinal effects. Like our bonsai plants, the Ficus Ginseng is available in various shapes and sizes.
Lucky Bamboo:
A Lucky Bamboo is actually composed of Dracaena stems trained into various unique shapes and, especially in Asian countries, is considered a symbol of good luck. Lucky Bamboo products are sold both as pot plants trained into a pyramid shape and contained in a beautiful ceramic pot, and as individual stems used by flower arrangers as cut products.
Plant arrangements:
Oriental Group is engaged in creating unique arrangements using plants all year round. These can be composed of houseplants, garden plants or seasonal products.
Oriental Group is MPS-A+, MPS-GAP and MPS-SQ certified. Efforts in this direction include heating our greenhouses with residual heat acquired from E.On and working very closely with all the authorities in order to have importing from Asia conducted correctly.
