La vie en rose - 3x modern gardens for the garden rose

We know the rose as a gorgeous cut flower, but as a garden plant, the rose is even more beautiful (if that’s even possible). It’s not the easiest garden plant, but definitely the most rewarding. These three modern gardens are the perfect setting for the garden rose.

Romantic fairy tale
A pergola or garden gate is the perfect stage for a climbing garden rose. The rose bush will slowly grow into the kind of rose arch you see in fairy tales and children’s books. With a sweet little table, a few pastel-coloured chairs and some subtle fairy lights, this corner of the garden is a true dream come true. And when the roses are done blooming, their petals will make for gorgeous garden confetti.

Nature garden
You can find about 300 kinds of roses in the wild, and about 30.000 bred cultivars. Both look fantastic in a wild, natural garden. A rose bush, rambler roses, and the larger cultivars fit this garden trend perfectly. A garden rose grows best when you let it grow wild, which is what this garden trend is all about. There are even garden rose cultivars bred specifically to attract bees, so the insects can enjoy this gorgeous flower as well.

Bohemian
Colourful, eclectic, a happy chaos. In a bohemian garden, everything revolves around colour, natural materials and playful styling. Let your roses grow wild or place a few potted roses in big mason jars with some moss. A collection of rose terrariums will look lovely in a corner filled with cozy, colourful carpets and pillows. If space is limited, roses can climb up a wall with ease, so even smaller gardens and balconies can be turned into rose paradise.
