Crazy about the fritillaria
The fritillaria has beautiful flowers that perfectly suit these first days of spring.
Shaped like upside down bells, the flowers are available in a variety of colours, from red to orange and yellow, but also green with purple stripes, red-purple with yellow edges or green with brown-orange spots. Another fascinating colour variation is the purple-white fritillaria with a chessboard pattern. It's this variation that inspired the plant's name. In Latin, 'fritilus' means dice cup, referring to both the shape of the flower and the checkered colour patterns.
