Nico van der Arend started Arend Roses in the year 1976 out of his pure love of roses. Nowadays, Arend roses are grown on eleven hectares, spread between two locations in the Municipality of Westland. That love for the product is still very much alive and continued by the second generation van der Arend, Remco, and his business partner Richard.
When you were a kid, it was easy. Come Mother’s day, you would just get your mum a drawing or that creative piece of pasta art you made during arts and crafts at school. But over the years, Mother’s Day gifts have become increasingly hard to figure out. What do you give that sweet woman, someone who already has pretty much everything? If you ask us, a plant, bouquet of flowers, or an arrangement is always a safe bet.
At Noviflora being green is about more than just plants. We care about our planet and our environment and take the social and entrepreneurial responsibility to minimize our ecological footprint very seriously.

A tree that stays green year-round, that’s one way to survive those last cold winter months. The citrus tree has been cultivated forever – roughly 4,000 years – and has a pleasant, sweet smell. For people with a talented green thumb, sunny garden and a little luck, you might just find some fruit hanging from the tree eventually. Our Planthunters found these trees in Italy, and immediately loved the quality and abundance of its leaves.
